America Saves Week is coordinated by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council. Started in 2007, the Week is an annual opportunity to promote saving as a habit and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status. With encouragement and support, more Americans will hopefully be persuaded to set a goal, make a plan, and save automatically.

The Consumer Federation of America's annual survey assessing household savings reveals that only 50% of Americans have good saving habits. Nearly one-third did not have sufficient emergency savings to pay for unexpected expenses such as car repairs or doctor bills. Are you prepared? Do you put aside money into savings each month?
