The Music of the Doors

In 1965 friends Jim Morrison (vocals) and Ray Manzarek (keyboards) formed The Doors, one of the most influential rock bands of all time.  Eventually including guitarist Robbie Krieger and drummer John Densmore, the band enjoyed widespread popularity due to hypnotic rhythms, poetic lyrics, and onstage antics. After troubled singer Jim Morrison died in 1973, the group disbanded. Densmore, Krieger, and Manzarek continued performing and producing other musicians and attended The Doors' induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.  Manzarek died in May 2013.
