Mrs. Kennedy and Me
by Hill, Clint
Plot/Summary:
When Secret Service Agent Clint Hill is assigned to
protect Jacqueline Kennedy, he begrudgingly accepts,
imagining his days will be filled with tea parties and
shopping trips. Instead Agent Hill travels the world with
Mrs. Kennedy and helps her navigate her new, high-profile
life. Mr. Hill serves the Kennedy family during many
life-altering events, such as the birth of two Kennedy
sons and the death of one. The world will never forget
Mr. Hill, as he was the Secret Service Agent who jumped on
the back of the limousine to protect Mrs. Kennedy as the
limo sped away from Dealey Plaza after the assassination
of President Kennedy.
Comments:
Far from a gossipy tell-all, Clint Hill's memoir relives
the four years he guarded Mrs. Kennedy. The reviewer felt
sorry for both Mr. Hill, away from his wife and young
children for weeks at a time, and Mrs. Kennedy, who wanted
nothing more than to live her life and rear her children
away from the eyes of the adoring public. The recounting
of the assassination of President Kennedy and the events
afterward were especially heartrending. Other recent
