Whether you are considering homeschooling or are already doing so and looking for additional resources, the Carmel Clay Public Library can help. We invite you to visit us and explore the wide range of print, online, and audiovisual materials the Children's and Youth Services Department provides, as well as our fun and educational events. From home, you can also access our online catalog, download audiobooks and ebooks, and get recommended reading lists for kids. You are always welcome to call us at 317-844-3363 if you need assistance. A few of the many resources available are below.
Children's Technology Center
The Children's Technology Center has 17 computers that contain a variety of resources, including Microsoft Office and filtered Internet access, to assist children with their research efforts. In addition, we have 5 non-Internet computers loaded with high-quality learning games for children in preschool through grade 3. Printers are also available; black and white copies cost 10 cents per page, and color prints are 50 cents per page.
Our Children's and Youth Services staff offers programming for children from birth through fifth grade. Monthly calendars of current library programs are available at the Children's Reference Desk.
Our Homeschool Club for homeschoolers ages 5 and older meets one Friday each month during the fall and spring. Attending this drop-in program is a great way for you to enjoy some games and a craft, explore our library's resources, and connect with other families. Caregivers and younger siblings are always welcome to attend.
We also offer a Family Read-Aloud Program during January and a Summer Reading Program to encourage reading throughout the summer.
