How to Obtain a Library Card
It is easy to obtain a Carmel Clay Public Library card. Simply bring a picture ID with your current address in Carmel or Clay Township, and visit the checkout desk at the library. If your picture ID does not have your current address, bring a current utility (or similar) bill in addition. You will be asked to fill out a library card application, and will then be issued a card. Students may present a student ID or driver's license. Children under 12 require a parent's signature.
Your library card entitles you to check out books, audiovisual
materials and magazines. You will be able to
renew items online, and you
will have access to online databases. Librarians can help you navigate
through the maze of information available on the Internet and in print,
ensuring that you find credible sources, whatever your needs may be. The
library also offers educational programs for all age groups, as well as
computer and Internet access at no charge.
