U.S. Censuses 1790-1840: Searching with Ancestry Library Edition
Tuesday, July 16, 2013
7:00 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.
After a presentation on the U.S. Censuses 1790-1840, and how to make use of these earlier censuses in your research, there will be time for you to begin researching your ancestors using Ancestry Library Edition. This class is recommended for persons who would like an overview of information available from the earlier censuses. It is helpful, when beginning to research families in censuses before 1850, that you have found your ancestral family in the 1850 census. Computers will be used. Some Internet searching experience is recommended. Please bring information about a family you would like to research in the 1840 census. This could include the state and county of residence, and the approximate age of the head of household. Registration is required by calling the Reference Desk at (317) 844-3362. This program will be held in the Computer Training Room on the second floor.
