WWII: Duty, Honor, Country: Up Close and Personal with Local Veterans
Sunday, July 14, 2013
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Meet Indiana WWII veterans face-to-face and hear them tell their personal stories in an intimate fireside chat setting. Local authors Steve Hardwick and Duane Hodgin will offer a presentation of WWII veterans' stories and excerpts from their new book, "WWII: Duty, Honor, Country." This is a collection of memories gathered from 84 Indiana veterans, ranging from actual "Rosie the Riveters" to an Auschwitz Holocaust survivor, from men and women who worked behind the lines in crucial support roles to front line combat veterans. Spend some time with these brave men and women as they share their experiences of sacrifice, loneliness, fear, suffering, courage, and duty to country. Registration for this program is not required. For more information, call the Reference Desk at (317) 844-3362. This program will be held in the Program Room.
