Harvesting and Storing Your Garden Bounty
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Your garden is bursting with its end of season bounty, but do you know when to harvest your okra, broccoli or squash? Hamilton County Master Gardener intern and lifelong gardener Ann Galloway will give you guidelines and tips on when and how to harvest the most popular vegetables grown in central Indiana. Once harvested, what do you do with your bounty? Suzanne Krowiak, Master Food Preserver and founder of Indy Food Swappers, will discuss canning, freezing and preserving your fruits and vegetables to enjoy until next year's harvest. This program will be held in the Program Room and is sponsored by the Hamilton County Master Gardener Association and the Plots to Plates Organic Community Garden, a project of the Carmel Clay Schools Green Team.
