The Reader by Bernhard Schlink I've read The Reader for the second time. It is a love story gone awry, set back in post-WWII Germany when a 15-year old boy who has hepatitus is taken in by a 30-year old woman who lives alone. This is the plot much there is much more involving Hanna and her job as a guard at Auchwitz and Michael, who is studying law 10 years later. He is part of a seminar group attending one of the many belated Nazi war crime trials and is crushed by Hanna's past. I would give this book 5 stars. Add a Comment
