Fire in the Ashes by Jonathan Kozol I read a couple of books by Jonathan Kozol, a journalist who documents the stories of America's urban poor, during college. This book is a where-are-they-now update on some of the families he had written about in the 90s. I recommend it whether you've read his older works or not. Plenty of background info is given, and the stories, both tragic and inspirational, had me laughing sometimes and crying others. Add a Comment
