The Cat's Table by Michael Ondaatje I loved the writing of Michael Ondaajte! The plot is a litle slow in parts but the but was swept away by the writing...beautiful! It centers on three boys journey by ship from Sri Lanka to England. They are joined at the "cat's table" for meals, the table the furthest away from the captain's table. There's a tailor, a botanist, a burned-out pianist, a retired ship junker, and a mysterious spinster. There's also a chained murderer and a deaf girl.
