Malcom Bannister, Grisham's protagonist, like most of his novels, is a lawyer. The unusual thing is that Malcom is in prison. One wonders where this can go, with the lawyer in prison, but Grisham weaves a tale of intrigue and unexpected twists. I was captivated through to the end.
