Conservative Victory
Conservative Victory by Sean Hannity (Classics, Literary Fiction, Biography)
It contains mini-biographies of Reagan and Obama. It recounts Reagan's successes in economic growth through fostering a free-market with low taxes and in foreign policy through causing the collapse of the Soviet Union with resultant freedom in Eastern Europe. It details the radical, failed policies of Obama in the same arenas--economics and foreign policy. It forecasts the incredible debt that will fall to succeeding American generations. -- Added by 6th_gen_hoosier on 01/20/2013

The story is about relationships. There are some plot points difficult to accept, but the whole web is so intertwined and original-seeming that the reader is rewarded in the end. -- Added by 6th_gen_hoosier on 01/13/2013

The Fixer
The Fixer by Bernard Malamud (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History)
This book won a Pulitzer Prize for literature. It conveys the anti-Semitism of the Czarist era. We see how a persecuted and wrongly-imprisoned unimportant individual, who is only a fixer, deals with years of mistreatment and rises in value. One does not "enjoy" the book; one reads it for understanding. -- Added by 6th_gen_hoosier on 01/09/2013

One Shot
One Shot by Lee Child (Mystery, Horror, Crime, Business, Politics)
This book was adapted for the movie "Jack Reacher." The book was set in southern Indiana, but the movie is set in Pittsburgh. Make sure to read the book before seeing the movie. Jack Reacher is both a physical threat to law-breakers and a brilliant investigatior. The story has many plot elements that all work together smoothly. One develops strong ties to the heroic characters and high hopes for a just outcome. You'll want to read this straight through in less than a day. -- Added by 6th_gen_hoosier on 01/07/2013
