Beautiful Creatures
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Science, Health)
Not the worst teen paranormal romance I've ever read, but not sure I'm going to read the next one in this series. Honestly this was on my reading list for a long time as a maybe, and then the previews popped up and I felt compelled to read it before they ruined it for me. Certainly not as angst-ridden as the Twilight series, but some of its supernatural constructs are a bit silly, so I'm probably done. -- Added by Cabin Boy on 02/04/2013

Duke Sucks
Duke Sucks by Reed Tucker (Adventure, Suspense, Travel, Sports)
There wasn't a Subject for non-fiction (sigh). My convictions on this topic were already as firm as a Tea Baggin-automatic rifle-totin'-extra capacity magazine-automatic birther's about our Commander in Chief, but it never hurts to have a few facts on hand (hint hint dear Tea Baggers). -- Added by Cabin Boy on 01/16/2013

Zombie Fallout 2
Zombie Fallout 2 by Mark Tufo (Mystery, Horror, Crime, Business, Politics)
Well written, very funny, but the best part about this audiobook series is the fact that the narrator sounds exactly like a parent whose daughter was on my daughter's travel soccer team a few years ago, and who we still see during the season. So now I'm stuck with the image of him in my head, out there fighting the good fight in Z-land, which just makes it funnier. I probably won't be able to keep a straight face the next time I talk to him. -- Added by Cabin Boy on 01/16/2013

The Wind Through the Keyhole
The Wind Through the Keyhole by Stephen King (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Science, Health)
At first I was afraid that this story would be just a huge back pedal in order to catch up all the newbies to over 5,000 pages of The Dark Tower cycle. But now it's settled down and I'm comfortably slipping into Mid-World again. I listen to the Dark Tower Cycle on audiobook (the whole **** thing) every 2-3 years, and I will definitely incorporate this title into the cycle, especially to get the bad taste out of my mouth after Wizard and Glass. -- Added by Cabin Boy on 01/16/2013
