Princess Elizabeth's Spy
Princess Elizabeth's Spy by Susan Elia MacNeal (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History)
Love this series. Some of the plot twists are obvious but it's an enjoyable read and I like learning something about the WWII era English home front. -- Added by bsubird on 01/28/2013

Quiet
Quiet by Susan Cain (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Science, Health)
Very insightful. The stories the author shares about Dale Carnegie, Harvard School of Business, and others are interesting. The Anthony Robbins section was absolutely comical. Lots of tips to help extroverts and introverts bring out the best in each other; both personality types have strengths and weaknesses. -- Added by bsubird on 01/24/2013

An Irish Country Doctor
An Irish Country Doctor by Patrick Taylor (Romance, Women's Fiction, Relationships, Humor)
After reading the glowing reviews on Amazon I was really looking forward to starting this series. What a disappointment. Not much of a story; mainly a new and an established doctor visiting quirky patients. While this by itself isn't a bad premise for a series, it would certainly help if there was a strong storyline accompanying the visits. I hoped this series would be similar to Phil Gulley's "Home to Harmony" or Jan Karon's "Mitford" but it wasn't even close. Irish stereotypes are reinforced to the point of almost being offensive. Didn't enjoy any of the characters in the book enough to read the next book in the series. -- Added by bsubird on 01/17/2013

The series gets better. The audio format is just grand. -- Wyperson on 01/17/2013
AARP Great Jobs for Everyone 50+
AARP Great Jobs for Everyone 50+ by Kerry Hannon (Mystery, Horror, Crime, Business, Politics)
Really enjoyed this book. Provides lots of great information (and confidence boosters) for gearing up for a job search. Good information on using social media. I never considered contract work before reading this book but have learned its benefits. This book gave me the tools to step outside my comfort zone and recognize the ego busters that naturally occur when you leave a long standing job (voluntarily or otherwise)and attempt to make a new start. -- Added by bsubird on 01/16/2013

A Duty to the Dead
A Duty to the Dead by Charles Todd (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History)
A good read. Suspenseful and kept my interest. Fans of Maisie Dobbs mystery series will enjoy this series. -- Added by bsubird on 01/14/2013
