The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History) Saga of a middle aged man living and tending to his orchard in the rural Pacific Northwest at the turn of the century. His life is disrupted by two feral girls who encroach on his land and his peaceful life. Unless by Carol Shields (Classics, Literary Fiction, Biography) I had read this book when it first came out - it was a joy to revisit it. The writing is wonderful!
