Simply Irresistible
Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis (2000s)
This is a quick book to read when you just need some entertainment. Pretty predictable story, but I might be inspired to read some others in the series. -- Added by crashweaver on 03/08/2014

Eleanor & Park
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (1980s)
This is a quirky love story about two eccentric high school students. I would recommend this book to older teens as well as adults. -- Added by crashweaver on 02/25/2014

The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story
The Zookeeper's Wife: A War Story by Diane Ackerman (1940s)
Really interesting nonfiction book that opens up right at the time when Germany invaded Poland. The keepers of the Warsaw Zoo went to great lengths to save Jews from the Nazis, and their commitment to all of the zoo animals was remarkable. The audiobook format was especially nice because the narrator read many parts of the main character's journal entries in her accent. -- Added by crashweaver on 02/25/2014

Hyperbole and a Half
Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh (2000s)
Very honest personal stories from the author, based on her blog. So, so funny - a book has not made me laugh like this in a long time. -- Added by crashweaver on 02/17/2014

The Cat who Could Read Backwards
The Cat who Could Read Backwards by Lilian Jackson Braun (1960s)
It's so much fun to read a book set so long before the Internet, 9/11, etc. I have forgotten what that time was like! The newspaper business was certainly different then. -- Added by crashweaver on 02/14/2014
