This one happens to deal with the story of Anastasia and Alexi and their escape from Russia during the revolution. The Valley of Horses by Jean M. Auel (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History) Second in a series. The book jumps back and forth between two characters to tell their stories until they meet later in the book, so it can be hard to get through for a while.
