The Saint Who Would Be Santa Claus
The Saint Who Would Be Santa Claus by Adam C. English (Classics, Literary Fiction, Biography)
This is an interesting biography of Nicholas of Myra, who died in the area of 335. He was known for joyous giving and was helpful to others. If you like biography readings, this would be for you. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/25/2013

The Bone Bed
The Bone Bed by Patricia Cornwell (Mystery, Horror, Crime, Business, Politics)
Once again, Patricia Cornwell has written a good story. Her characters are consistent and the scenes are wonderful. The leathery turtle was a stroke of genius. Good read. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

The Second Empress
The Second Empress by Michelle Moran (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History)
This is a novel about Napoleon's Court and how he wanted an heir. Josephine could not give him a child, so he divorced her. I liked the book and it was easily read. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

Final Table
Final Table by Jonathan Duhamel (Adventure, Suspense, Travel, Sports)
This is about how to win at poker and he has 18 levels to achieve that goal. The book has information about the main event of the world series (relating to poker) and how he won at an early age. Interesting reading. I would read it again if I ever wanted to know how to win at poker or any professional game. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

The Winter of the World
The Winter of the World by Dominic Hibberd (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History)
This is the Book Two of the Century Trilogy. Follett is amazing with his characters. His outlook on the world of 1933 until 1943 had some fantastic scenes with World War II. He has characters from Germany, USA, England, and Russia. His work is worth reading again. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

Queen of Wands
Queen of Wands by John Ringo (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Science, Health)
Now I wish that I had read some other books by John Ringo. He slays me. Ringo uses a woman who has been touched by God to fight evil. She joins in with a group that have amazing skills. This is another book that I would not read again. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

House of Odd
House of Odd by Dean R Koontz (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Science, Health)
This is a graphic novel. I have read some other books by this author and in the graphic novel venue. It is alright, but nothing that would keep you awake at night. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

The Casual Vacancy
The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling (Romance, Women's Fiction, Relationships, Humor)
OK, so it's not Potter. This is about the relationships in a town. Not one that I would want to read again. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013

Repellant characters overall. Yucky, and not what I expected at all. Sorry I bought it. -- bobbiboomer on 02/02/2013
J.K. Rowling has made a big mistake. She should have quit after the Harry Potter series. Most readers hate her latest attempt. Don't let your children read this. -- sarasotasun on 02/16/2013
The Drop
The Drop by Michael Connelly (Adventure, Suspense, Travel, Sports)
It is always sad to hear that a character is becoming older. Harry Bosch has three years until his retirement from LAPD. While he is getting older, his skills are appropriate for this mystery. Liked it, but I always like Connelly's books. judy -- Added by judithannroche on 01/20/2013
