She has twelve older brothers, and most of her relations, covering several generations, appear or are mentioned in the book. This story involves murders, lies, extramarital affairs, and a powerful hurricane that is threatening their county, even though it is far inland. "The Body In The Bookcase" by Katherine Hall Page is one of the Faith Fairchild mysteries series. Faith Fairchild is a minister's wife, mother of two young children, caterer, and transplanted New Yorker. She finds the body of an elderly woman in her Massachusetts town, and this leads her on a discovery of the antique business, thieves, corrupt dealers, and how much her family's history means to her. "Past Caring" by Robert Goddard is a well - written book covering many genres: fiction, history, geography, World War I, politics, biography, and mystery. Although it is a long book, it is worth every word. The characters span several generations, the venues are located on several continents, the villains (both male and female) are evil, and the politicians are corrupt (as we have learned to expect). Everglades
Everglades by Randy Wayne White (Adventure, Suspense, Travel, Sports)
"Everglades" by Randy Wayne White is one in his series about biologist Doc Ford in southwestern Florida. This adventure is located within the Everglades, and includes alligators, swamps, and Native American Indians. The "bad guys" include religious cult gurus, hit men, and land developers. Many of Doc Ford's friends from previous books make appearances, and several new characters are introduced. North of Havana by Randy Wayne White (Historical Fiction, Westerns, History)
"North Of Havana" by Randy Wayne White is one in his series of Doc Ford novels set in southwestern Florida. In this story, Doc Ford and his associates do battle with evil in Cuba. The reader learns about the horrible conditions in Cuba since Fidel Castro's regime, and the corruption that is everywhere. "Endangered Species", by Nevada Barr, is the fifth in the series of the Anna Pigeon books. This story takes places on Cumberland Island (a real place), Georgia, where Anna Pigeon is working on fire presuppression duty. The tale is filled with numerous and singular characters: fellow workers, politicians, locals, and animal rights activists. The plot involves fires, airplane crashes, loggerhead turtles laying eggs on the beach, drug trafficking, and murder.
