Roses
Roses by Leila Meacham (2000s)
One of the best loves stories I've read in years, spanning over 50 years, takes place in east Texas starting in the early part of the 20th Century. I listened to this on audio on my long daily commute and found myself wrung out from crying over it by the time I got to work every day. Many twists and turns and heart-wrenching events that sometimes made it hard to finish. You'll love this author if you like historical novels that cross generations. -- Added by Sbspong on 02/24/2014

Falling Home
Falling Home by Karen White (2000s)
This is a beautiful story of a southern young woman who, try as she might, could not throw off the holds of her home town when she's called home after 15 years for her father's serious illness. It's a story of coming home, redemption, deep love of family and roots and taking responsibility. -- Added by Sbspong on 02/19/2014

Everglades
Everglades by Randy Wayne White (2000s)
Another fine addition to the Doc Ford series. I enjoy the history, geography, and ecology lessons that White manages to squeeze into a fascinating tale of murder and mayhem. I just hate that you always know who's going to get whacked...anyone whom Ford tries to help. -- Added by Sbspong on 02/08/2014

Bring Me Home for Christmas
Bring Me Home for Christmas by Robyn Carr (2000s)
My second time around reading the Virgin River series and it's every bit as enjoyable as the first. Books are chock full of strong, handsome, patriotic, caring men and the women they worship. Virgin River is heaven on earth. -- Added by Sbspong on 02/06/2014

Chosen to Die
Chosen to Die by Lisa Jackson (2000s)
This is the sequel to Left to Die, both excellent suspense novels. Lisa Jackson knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm not crazy about the narrator's voice in this audiobook but if you can get past that, you'll enjoy this one. -- Added by Sbspong on 02/01/2014

Mayday
Mayday by Nelson DeMille (1990s)
This is a 1998 rewrite of a 1979 novel deMille co-wrote with lifelong friend Thomas Block. They wanted to update the story to include newer aviation technology. As illogical the story line, it was, nevertheless, very entertaining and edge of your seat suspenseful. If you're a deMille fan, you'll probably enjoy this one. -- Added by Sbspong on 01/18/2014

The Burden of Proof
The Burden of Proof by Scott Turow (1980s)
I discovered Turow only recently and am enthralled by the depth, intrigue, and surprise endings of his legal dramas. I highly recommend this, his second book, and his first offering, Presumed Innocent. -- Added by Sbspong on 01/15/2014

Son of Stone
Son of Stone by Stuart Woods (2000s)
I'm not sure why I keep following the Stone Barrington series as he and his cohorts are not at all believable, but for some reason I can't quit. I hope Stuart Woods will eventually put this series to bed. No pun intended. -- Added by Sbspong on 01/11/2014
