Shadow of Night
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (Other)
The second book in the All Souls Trilogy in which Diana, witch, and Matthew, vampire, time-travel to Elizabethan England. Now, this happens to be one of my personal favorite times in history, so I love historical fiction that revels in the details. This is not one of them. I also kept waiting for some really terrible conflict to occur, but it never did. Maybe the third book will provide more of the excitement the first book produced. -- Added by skyeokc on 01/22/2014

Dead Ever After
Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris (2000s)
The last of the Sookie series. I may be alone in this, but I think Sookie "jumped the shark" a few books back. However, this last installment at least revisited all of the major characters along the way and provided a semi-tidy wrap-up which was my personal prediction of what would happen (no spoilers here, read it yourself and see if you don't say, "Yeah, I saw that coming...") -- Added by skyeokc on 01/22/2014

The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat
The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat by Edward Kelsey Moore (1960s)
I loved the characters in this book, especially Odette! A fantastic book about strong woman and friendships that stand the test of time. -- Added by skyeokc on 01/22/2014

Femme Fatale
Femme Fatale by Carole Nelson Douglas (Other)
As the author's Irene Adler series goes, I'd say this was one of the less exciting and draggy titles. Too much repetitive information; not enough forward plot movement. -- Added by skyeokc on 01/22/2014
