College Myths and Truths

College admissions are more confusing than ever. What's more important - grades or extra-curricular activities? What tests should you take and when? Amy McVeigh of Smart College Selection will answer these questions and more in a highly interactive session for parents and their high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Amy McVeigh has a certificate in college counseling from the University of California at Los Angeles, an MBA from Harvard, and a degree in public relations from Boston University. She is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association and one of the few members of the Independent Educational Consultants Association in Indiana named as a Professional Member. She is also a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC).

Kate Brazzale has an M.Ed. in Higher Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University, and a degree in public relations from Creighton University. She has spent the last 12 years working in college admissions, reading applications and making academic decisions. She is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association and the Indiana Association for College Admission Counseling.
