Celebrity chef and world traveler Anthony Bourdain was born in New York City and in 1978 graduated from the Culinary Institute of America.
As a lifelong food enthusiast, he did everything from shuck oysters on Cape Cod to become the Executive Chef at one of
Manhattans most exclusive restaurants. In 2000, Bourdain took his years of experience and wit and turned them into the bestselling memoir
"Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly". Soon after the book became a hit, he started a TV show "A Cooks Tour" the first
incarnation of what he became best known for, the food travelogue. Bourdain grew in popularity for his next show "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel.
In 2012, the final version of the acclaimed series, Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown aired on CNN, it went on to win 5 Emmys. Bourdain was also the
author of several fiction and non-fiction books.
