What Exactly is Carmel Clay Public Library's Summer Challenge?Good question! The Summer Challenge is our way to encourage lifelong learning and the continued development of 21st century skills for our entire community - infants to adults - not just by reading, although that is one option. Activity options include writing an online book review, visiting a park, doing a science activity, completing a crossword puzzle, registering for a library card, or attending a library event…just to name a few. The activities are the same whether you are a child, teen, or adult, making the program perfect for everyone and encouraging cross-generational experiences. This year you can earn up to 500 points and choose how you spend those points on our prizes!
Why Should I Participate in the Summer Challenge?
Summer is the perfect time to try new things or engage in fun activities. Adults and teens can customize the challenge to their specific interests while taking the opportunity to meet new people, try different things, develop new skills, and just have fun. For children, the program encourages the development of early literacy skills, continued learning and engagement, and exploration of available resources which can help prevent summer learning loss.
