Standing under the Rainbow by Fannie Flagg (Other Fiction)
I really liked this book. I have read a couple others by this author and enjoyed them also. Even though I usually do not like having too many side stories this author is able to construct these stories and connections so that you really do pay attention to everyone. -- Added by suejefferies on 08/07/2014

Friendship Bread
Friendship Bread by Darien Gee (Other Fiction)
I thought this was going to be a very light read - like a girlfriend flick. It was not. The author so believably described the depression that follows the death of a child and how others react to the death and try to deal with a mother who just can't get over the tragedy. She wove so many other characters and their stories into the novel, and was still able to keep my interest. I loved the ending. -- Added by suejefferies on 08/03/2014

The First Phone Call From Heaven
The First Phone Call From Heaven by Mitch Albom (Other Fiction)
This author is a great story teller. He is really able to keep your interests. His story lines never feel contrived and his endings, especially this book, just feel right. -- Added by suejefferies on 08/03/2014

Remember Me?
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella (Romance)
Some of the characters and situations in this story were a little too contrived, and I would have enjoyed listening to the story more without the foul language. I probably will pass on other titles by this author. -- Added by suejefferies on 07/18/2014

Fly Away
Fly Away by Kristin Hannah (Other Fiction)
Really enjoyed this story and plan to read the other two in the series. The author's description of how the different characters reacted to the death of a loved one, especially the daughter was very interesting. The author is either a gifted psychologist or has experienced this type of loss and reaction. -- Added by suejefferies on 07/18/2014

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Other Fiction)
I never thought I would say this however I liked the movie version better. The title story is just a short story, so the characters weren't really fleshed out as they were in the movie. -- Added by suejefferies on 06/24/2014

Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles
Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury (Science Fiction/Fantasy)
I love the irony that Mr. Bradbury weaves into his stories about how a civilization on Mar might react to visitors from Earth. He has some interesting concepts for future technology. -- Added by suejefferies on 06/24/2014

A Week in Winter
A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy (Other Fiction)
I really enjoyed the way Ms Binchy developed each character. -- Added by suejefferies on 06/24/2014

Sister Carrie
Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser (Historical Fiction)
Interesting book in that it detailed life at the turn of the century and the customs, attitudes toward women, costs of things, just life in general was so very different from now. The author did quite a bit of philosophizing and that was somewhat lost on me. -- Added by suejefferies on 06/11/2014
